Ohm’s Law
Electric curent that flows in a conductor wire is
directly proportional to the potential difference between the ends of the
conductor wire.
That’s statement is known as Ohm’s law.
Mathematically, the relation between electric current, electric potential
difference, and resistant can be formulated as follows:

Resistivity
Resistance in an electric circuit can be measured by
using multimetters. It is a spesific property of any material. Where can be
shown as:
Where:
R=resistence (
)
L=length (m)
A= area (m2)
Example 2.3
A wire of 2 meter long has resistence 20
. The section area is 2.5 mm2. What is the
resistivity of wire?
Conductor,
semiconductor, and isolator
Conductors a
material that easily conducts an electric current. They are: iron, copper,
aluminum, and steel.
Semiconductor
is a material or substance the electric conductivity of which lies between
conductor and isolator. They are: germanium, and silicon.
Insulators is
a material that is difficult to conduct an electric current or is not easily
conduct with an electric current. They are: glass, wood, plastic, and rubber.
